Park the car at the southern side of Skala Katerinis/ Olympiaki Akti and follow the beach southwards. Species that can be found here are Trigueirão, Alcaravão and Abelharuco-comum. Reaching the river mouth, species that can be expected are Pernilongo, Socó-taquari, Íbis-preta, Garça-roxa, Corvo-marinho-pigmeu, Gaivota-de-cabeça-preta and Gaivota-de-bico-fino.
On the way back it might be worth to do a detour and follow the river upstream and after a while turn northwards.
