Descrição
Livadi Marsh is a flat area and a semi-flooded marsh. On one side it is bordered by the sea. A road to a quarry runs on one side along from the sea and on the other side the marsh is overlooked by a hillside. The small wetland is a paradise for wading birds such as Garça-branca-pequena, Garça-branca-grande, Papa-ratos and Marrequinha-comum. Also Guarda-rios-comum can be seen. The surrounding reeded pools, scrubland and fir trees also attract tits, finches, Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis, Felosa-icterina and Toutinegra-de-cabeça-preta. It’s also common to see Abelharuco-comum, Papa-moscas-cinzento, Felosa-dos-juncos, Andorinhão-real buzzards and eagles in this area.

Drive down to Lixouri on the mountain road from Argostoli, just as you reach sea-level there are two parking spots. The first alongside a concrete wall on a hairpin bend and a little further down, practically at the sea road. The best place to observe the marsh is from a path which runs from just by the concrete wall along a hillside, past fly-tipped household & building junk to a grove of fir trees overlooking the marsh.
