Descrição
The Weingartener Moor is an interesting place to visit and can host a good variety of bird species. The varying levels of water throughout the year adds a certain dynamic and an element of surprise. When there are open areas of water, there are good numbers of geese and ducks present. Ganso-comum, Ganso do Canadá, Pato-real, Frisada, Zarro-comum, Zarro-negrinha, Marrequinha-comum, Galeirão-comum and Mergulhão-pequeno are all regularly seen here.
Receding water levels and muddy fringes can attract birds such as Narceja-comum and Pássaro-bique-bique. In August 2023, a juvenile Rola-do-mar was even observed here! The surrounding woodland is home to a good number of species and is a good place to look for Tordeia, Pica-pau-mediano and Pica-pau-malhado-pequeno. If you are lucky, you may see a Ógea hunting dragonflies in summer.
