Waldsee Lauer is part of the Leipziger Auwald (aluvial forest) and just north of the lake Cospudener See, it offers a small, nice and relaxing birding walk. The lake itself hosts species such as Mergulhão-pequeno, Frisada, Guarda-rios-comum and had a regularly visiting Pato-carolino for some time. The surrounding forest offers species such as Chapim-rabilongo, Pica-pau-preto and Lugre.

Waldsee Lauer is situated northwest of Markleeberg and just south of Leipzig. This place is best explored on foot (at minimum a circular path of 1.8 km, which can be extended nicely and flexibly). You can get there by bike very comfortably from Markleeberg or Leipzig.
Coming by public transport, bus line 65 gets you there to the bus stops "Leipzig, Cospudener See/EXPO-Pavillon" (Northwest of the lake) or "Markkleeberg, Cospudener See/Erlebnisachse" (South of the lake), both highlighted on the map.
Coming by car, there is a parking lot Northwest of the lake (marked with a "P" on the map).

Especially during summer days, there is notable boating traffic (mostly kayaks) coming from Leipzig to Cospudener See. For this reason, it's worth coming in the mornings or evenings during this period of time.
