Descrição
Usedomer Strand is located near Peenemünde. From the beach you can easily observe migrating and resting birds. In winter, the Baltic Sea is full of sea ducks (like Pato-preto, Pato-de-cauda-afilada, Pato-fusco, Zarro-bastardo) divers (like Mergulhão-de-crista, , Mergulhão-de-pescoço-ruivo) and swans. Loons (Mobêlha-pequena, Mobêlha-árctica) migrate across the Baltic Sea.
In spring, groups of songbirds fly parallel to the dune forest to their breeding areas. From August onwards, individual Limikols (such as Pilrito-sanderlingo, Pilrito-comum, Seixoeira, Ostraceiro) are on the beach and terns are on the water. From the smallest (Andorinha-do-mar-anã) to the largest (Gaivina-de-bico-vermelho) everything is possible. In late autumn the geese (Ganso-grande-de-testa-branca, Ganso-de-faces-brancas, Tundra Bean Goose) fly to their resting areas. Águia-rabalva is often observed in this area.
