All year round, gulls such as Guincho-comum,, Gaivota-argêntea, Alcatraz-comum and Gaivota-parda can be observed. In summer gaivota-da-asa-escura also appears. There are also many species of ducks such as Pato-trombeteiro, Marrequinha-comum, Piadeira, Zarro-negrinha, Pato-olho-d'ouro and, more rarely, individual Zarro-bastardo.
On the small lake, waders such as Maçarico-bastardo and Pássaro-bique-bique can often be seen on mud flats. Many songbirds can be seen in the reeds and small trees. Worth mentioning are several breeding pairs of Pisco-de-peito-azul but also Chapim-de-bigode, Cartaxo-comum and Escrevedeira-dos-caniços can be seen every year.
A special feature is the Mergulhão-de-pescoço-ruivo, which has the only nesting site here on the west coast of North Friesland.
