This hike Stadtallendorf - Wasserscheide runs along the edge of the big forest of Herrenwald and also into the forest. You can see a variety of birds, especially woodpeckers. For example Milhafre-real, Corvo, Águia-d'asa-redonda, Trepadeira-azul, Rabirruivo-de-testa-branca, Pica-pau-preto, Pica-pau-malhado-grande, Pica-pau-mediano and Pica-pau-verde.

The area is located northwest of the village of Stadtallendorf. You can park next to the road, click on the P in the map for directions. From the parking you can make a nice hike and explore the area on foot. The circular walk (indicated on the map) is about 5 km.
