Descrição
The castle ponds are located on the eastern edge of the town of Ellwangen, in a small valley with a stream and are partly surrounded by a dense layer of bushes, as well as deciduous trees, including several old oaks. On the adjacent northern slope there is a meadow orchard with old fruit trees.
At the ponds you can observe various species of ducks and Guarda-rios-comum. Pica-pau-malhado-grande, Trepadeira-azul, and occasionally Pica-pau-mediano can be found in the old oak trees. In the orchards you can observe Papa-moscas-preto and Papa-moscas-cinzento in summer, and Tentilhão-montês, Bico-grossudo and Tordo-ruivo-comum in winter.
