The woodland on Asperberg is home to several types of forest. From beech forest to coniferous forest to mixed forest. As a result, many forest bird species can be found there. But the high density of woodpeckers is characteristic. Five woodpecker species (Pica-pau-preto, Pica-pau-malhado-grande, Pica-pau-mediano, Pica-pau-malhado-pequeno and Pica-pau-verde) can be found in the area.
