Descrição
The Holter Hammrich polder is divided into two parts. The western, 143-hectare section "Leyßer Hammrich" was designed as a habitat for meadow birds. It is extensively managed as grassland except for a pond that already existed before the redesign. The eastern, 80-hectare section "Altes Tief" is not cultivated. Here, a diverse mosaic of shallow water zones, shrubs, reed beds and wet grassland was created. Among the breeding birds are Maçarico-de-bico-direito, Alfaiate, Abibe-comum, Narceja-comum, Perna-vermelha-comum, Maçarico-real, Ostraceiro. Laverca, Cartaxo-comum, Pisco-de-peito-azul and Escrevedeira-dos-caniços.
