Descrição
The Plothener Teiche (Plothen ponds) extend over about 75 km². The nickname 'Land of 1000 ponds' is no coincidence, because there used to be about 1,600 ponds in this area. Today there are still about 600. The Finkenmühle ponds are a small part of the area, but one of the best parts for birding and it has an observation tower. Among the birds you can see in the area are Pato-branco, Marreco, Pato-trombeteiro, Marrequinha-comum, Mergulhão-pequeno, Cuco-canoro, Grou-comum, Borrelho-pequeno-de-coleira, Pássaro-bique-bique, Maçarico-bastardo, Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis, Milhafre-real, Picanço-de-dorso-ruivo and Escrevedeira-amarela.
