The Pätzer Plan is a large open space that is used for agriculture. The area is a mix of meadows and arable land. In the back there is also a small wetland. In winter, these areas are used as winter quarters for migratory birds such as Grou-comum, Ganso-comum and Abibe-comum. In summer there is a good chance of seeing Picanço-de-dorso-ruivo, Narceja-comum or Poupa. Other birds you can encounter in the area are Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis, peneireiro-de-dorso-malhado / peneireiro, Águia-d'asa-redonda, Búteo-calçado, Picanço-grande and Milhafre-real.

The place is easy to reach by car. Parking at the Haus des Waldes, click on the P in the map for directions. It is also possible to reach the area by bicycle (from the train station “Bestensee”) and there is also a bus that stops in front of the Pätzer Plan.
