The Ockstädter Kirschenberg is one of the most important areas for the Rabirruivo-de-testa-branca (be careful not to confuse it with the Rabirruivo-preto). The Rabirruivo-de-testa-branca is represented here with over 50 territories and is considered to be endangered in Hesse. Other birds you can see in this area are Torcicolo, Gavião da Europa, Trepadeira-comum, Rola-comum, Picanço-de-dorso-ruivo and Mocho-galego.

Parking lot for the Usa-Wellenbad (swimming pool) in Bad Nauheim or in the village of Ockstadt. Bus line FB32 to the bus stop "Friedberg (Hessen) - Ockstadt Am Kirschenberg". There are many roads and paths running through the area. On the map you see an example of a circular trail of 4 km.
