The Norddorfer Marsch is bordered by dunes in the west and an overgrown and overblown dike– and in the east bordered by an asphalt dike, which was built after the great hurricane flood in 1962. This wetland is a paradise for water birds with ponds and water ditches – although it is barely a square kilometer. During autumnal migration there are several hundred Piadeira staying here. By mid-December at the latest, they will move across the North Sea to Holland. Ganso-de-faces-negras populate the marsh in their thousands in the spring. Of course also other geese like Ganso-comum and Ganso-de-faces-brancas can be seen here. Also birds like Pato-branco, Ostraceiro, Borrelho-de-coleira-interrompida, Maçarico-real, Fuselo, Seixoeira, Pilrito-comum and Perna-vermelha-comum can be seen.

From the asphalt dike all birds can be spotted well. You can make a circular walk of 5 km around the wetland. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking. From there you can explore the area on foot.
