Nice combination of lake, reedbeds and woodlands. There is a large population of Rouxinol-grande-dos-caniços , and a colony of Gaivina-preta at Die Banke. In winter, when other sites in Berlin can be a bit boring, one can find interesting waterfowl here, including Mergulhão-de-pescoço-ruivo, Mergulhão-de-pescoço-castanho, Pato-olho-d'ouro, Pato-fusco and various loons. In the winter 2020 the lake was visited by one of the rarest loons, the Mobêlha-de-bico-branco (gavia adamsii). The woodlands south of the lake are home to breeding Papa-moscas-pequeno.
