The small lake Mindelsee and its diversely structured shores host the highest number of breeding species in the whole region of Lake Constance (Bodensee).
The Zarro-castanho can be observed in autumn. A colony of Andorinha-do-mar-comum nests on rafts in the lake. Also Frango-d'água, Milhafre-preto, Pato-de-bico-vermelho, Pica-pau-preto, Pica-pau-cinzento, Pica-pau-verde, Pica-pau-mediano, Petinha-das-árvores, Felosa-unicolor, rouxinol-dos-caniços, Rouxinol-comum and Papa-figos can be observed in breeding period. In winter Abetouro-comum and Merganso-grande may be of interest.

Access by public transport: There is a bus from Radolfzell station to Möggingen. Markelfingen also has a train station.
Access by car: The most convenient parking lot is on the road between Radolfzell and Möggingen: "Parkplatz Mindelsee". Click on the P in the map to get directions. The circular trail around the lake that is shown on the map is about 9 km.
