The artificial lake of the gravel pit (Kiesgrube Liebersee) is home to a large number of waterfowl and wading birds on the various small islands in the lake. Here you can find Andorinha-do-mar-anã, Andorinha-do-mar-comum, Pato-branco, Maçarico-real, Perna-vermelha-comum, Ostraceiro, Borrelho-pequeno-de-coleira and many more.
Surrounding the lake are reed beds and a structurally rich open landscape with bushes and trees. There you can find various species such as Abetouro-comum, Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis, Felosa-palustre, Rouxinol-grande-dos-caniços, Papa-amoras-comum, Felosa-das-figueiras, papa-amoras-cinzento, Felosa-icterina and more.

Kiesgrube Liebersee is located between the towns of Belgern and Mühlberg on the other side of the river Elbe. I suggest coming via the Belgern side in the north via the village of Dröschkau. From there, you can take a quick walk to watch the lake. However, please note that this route takes you to the lake from the North. Depending the day time, you may looks towards the sun.
