Descrição
Haselbacher Teiche is a complex of 16 former fish ponds that has been renatured and now is a nature reserve of 125 hectares. The area has ponds, reed beds, wet meadows, near-natural streams, orchards and floodplain-forest. The area has become an important breeding and resting place for many birds. Among the birds you can encounter are Rouxinol-grande-dos-caniços, Felosa-unicolor, Andorinha-do-mar-comum, Papa-figos, Picanço-de-dorso-ruivo, Escrevedeira-dos-caniços, Escrevedeira-amarela, Rouxinol-comum, Chapim-palustre, Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis, Águia-pesqueira and different species of ducks, grebes, herons and geese.

Coming from Haselbach turn right after house number 25 (Altenburger Str.) After about 150 m the ponds are on the right and left. You can also reach the ponds from train station Haselbach. On the map you see a 7,5 km circular walking route around the ponds that starts at the train station.
