Descrição
Grube Cox has mixed forest with lakes and ponds. Frisada, Zarro-comum and Corvo-marinho-de-faces-brancas spend the winter on the lakes. Tordeia can be seen in the poplars on the edges of the lake. In the forest, with a bit of luck, there are Pica-pau-malhado-pequeno , Pica-pau-mediano, Bico-grossudo and Dom-fafe.
In winter Tordo-ruivo-comum and Tentilhão-montês can also be seen. At night you can see Galinhola, hear Coruja-do-mato call and very occasionally Bufo-real. During migration I saw Águia-pesqueira hunt, but it is rare to observe them here. From a herpetological point of view, it is also worth a visit, as you can observe sand lizards, grass snakes and common midwife toad here.
