The area of a former french military airport Flugplatz Bremgarten consists of meadows and small forests and holds some of the scarcer breeding birds of the region, notably Papa-figos, Trigueirão, Felosa-poliglota and Rola-comum. In spring and autumn the area is good for migrating and resting raptors (e.g. harriers, sometimes Falcão-de-pés-vermelhos) and passerines (e.g. Chasco-cinzento, Cartaxo-nortenho).
