Descrição
The Feldberg is the highest mountain of the Black Forest and holds a variety of typical mountain birds of the region. Many breeding birds arrive late, so that a visit in May or June is particularly rewarding. Best spot for Verdilhão-serrano is around Todtnauer Hütte. Tetraz still occurs in the area, but is very difficult to find. Best chances for Pica-pau-tridáctilo are along the "Felsenweg" (northernmost section of the circuit). In some years Borrelho-ruivo rest on the alpine meadows in early September. Ferreirinha-alpina and even Pardal-alpino can be found occasionally in late spring, particularly near the monument on top of the mountain.
