Eriskircher Ried is an area where many water birds (e.g. diving ducks and swans) overwinter. Also an important breeding area. Several platforms for bird watching are available. Among the birds you can see are Pato-ferrugíneo, Cisne-pequeno, Cisne-bravo, Guarda-rios-comum, Zarro-bastardo, Pato-de-bico-vermelho, Pato-olho-d'ouro, Marreco, Marrequinha-comum, Pato-trombeteiro, Mergulhão-de-pescoço-preto, Mobêlha-árctica, Mobêlha-pequena, Maçarico-real, Borrelho-pequeno-de-coleira, Maçarico-bastardo, Perna-verde-comum, Perna-vermelha-comum, Combatente, Socó-taquari, Gaivina-preta, Gaivina-de-faces-brancas, Pica-pau-cinzento, Milhafre-real, Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis and Águia-pesqueira.
Good spots to observe birds are: 1) the platform next to Strandbad, 2) the mouth of Schussen 3) the platform in the middle of the area, 4) platform at north end of the area.
