The typical species of a city can be seen at the Decksteiner Weiher in summer. On the lake Ganso do Canadá, Ganso do Egipto, Mergulhão-de-crista and Pato-real can be seen. Around the lake you can observe Pica-pau-verde, Pintassilgo, Pica-pau-mediano and much more. In winter, however, more rare duck species such as Zarro-negrinha, Zarro-comum, Frisada and with a bit of luck also Zarro-castanho can be found.

Decksteiner Weiher is easy to reach by bike from Cologne (Köln). You can also get there easily by car. Click on a P in the map for directions to a parking. A circular walk around the lake is about 5 km.
