Descrição
Boisdorfer See is an open-cast mining lake that is about 24 m deep and surrounded by forest. The area around the lake also serves as a flood retention basin for the river. In addition to the permanent guests such as Galeirão-comum and Corvo-marinho-de-faces-brancas, there are always migratory birds in winter and winter guests such as Zarro-comum. Even Pato-preto and Pato-de-cauda-afilada are sometimes seen here in winter.

Parking is recommended at the Wanderparkplatz Marienfeld. Click on the P in the map to get directions. From there you can make a circular walk through the surrounding forest and along the lake of about 5 km (see the map).
