The Baddeckenstedt Teiche are ponds that are located in the nature reserve Mittleres Innerstetal, about 6 km east of the Derneburg ponds. Numerous waterfowl breed here, including around 15 pairs of Mergulhão-pequeno , 1-2 pairs of Mergulhão-de-pescoço-preto and, for the first time in 2010, a pair of Mergulhão-de-pescoço-ruivo. Occasionally, Mergulhão-de-crista also breed. In addition to Pato-real and Cisne-vulgar, Zarro-negrinha, Zarro-comum and Frisada are at home here.
