In summer Borrelho-pequeno-de-coleira breeds regularly in the area. Visiting from the adjacent river Danube and the Danube Canal are birds such as Guincho-comum , Pato-ferrugíneo and Galeirão-comum. The best observation opportunities are from the dam. The area is flooded regularly (March & July)
