At the river Ahr are breeding Borrelho-pequeno-de-coleira and Guarda-rios-comum. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding Mocho-galego (10 territories in 2020). Picanço-de-dorso-ruivo and Felosa-malhada are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding Rouxinol-comum , Papa-figos and Pica-pau-mediano. You can also see Milhafre-preto and Ógea during breeding time. In the little reedbed are rouxinol-dos-caniços and Felosa-palustre (also common next to the Ahr). Felosa-poliglota and Felosa-icterina can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like Águia-pesqueira and Pássaro-bique-bique. In winter you can see some wintering birds like Melro-d'água.

Acesso
There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
