Among the birds you can encounter are Felosa-do-mato , Felosa-malhada , Petinha-dos-prados, Águia-cobreira, Tartaranhão-caçador and Noitibó da Europa. Botanists and frog people will be absolutely happy with the place too.

You can park at the visitor center (Réserve naturelle nationale du Pinail 86210 Vouneuil-sur-Vienne). Click on the P in the map to get directions. The site is discovered from an interpretive trail of 2 kilometers, crisscrossing between moors and meadows, ponds and peat bogs, for a walk of about 2 hours.
