The Baie de Canche Nature Reserve covers part of the right bank of the river of the same name. A set of two environments characterizes this site. On the one hand, the estuary, where the river flows into the sea, is a rich and extremely diverse place of life. On the other hand, the dunes. A large population of birds breed in the dunes, but the the bay and its mudflats are also a stopover point for tens of thousands of migratory birds. Among the birds you can encounter in the area are Noitibó da Europa, Colhereiro, Pilrito-comum, Maçarico-real, Ostraceiro, Pato-branco, Pintarroxo-comum, Cartaxo-comum, Garajau-comum and Garça-branca-pequena.
