Puech de Salvageau allows you to observe bird species from open, semi-open to wooded environments. The route allows the discovery of species typical of dry limestone environments and offers a viewpoint for observing raptors such as Milhafre-real and Águia-cobreira.

Français: Le puech de Salvageau et Gratacap est un site Natura2000 reconnu pour sa biodiversité de pelouses sèches calcaires rares dans le Cantal et en Auvergne. Le site permet d'observer les espèces d'oiseaux des milieux ouverts, semi-ouverts à boisés. Le parcours permet la découverte des espèces typiques des milieux secs calcicoles et offre un point de vue pour l'observation des rapaces tel que le Águia-cobreira.

From the town of Maurs, take the direction “Decazeville” (D663) then near St Constant, take the direction “St Santin-de-Maurs” via the D45. Turn right onto the central square of the town of St Santin-de-Maurs, direction Montmurat (D45). At the exit of St Santin, take the 1st road on the right towards Poujol (D25). Pass the village of Poujol (on the left) and the houses of Loustalou (on the right) until you reach the crossroads from where the road leads to the village of Gratacap on the left. Follow this road until the first tarmac path which goes off to the right and goes up to the Puech de Salvageau. Click on the P in the map for directions.

Français: Depuis la ville de Maurs, prendre la direction « Decazeville » (D663) puis à hauteur de St Constant, prendre direction « St Santin-de-Maurs » par la D45. Tournez à droite sur la place centrale du bourg de St Santin-de-Maurs, direction Montmurat (D45). A la sortie de St Santin, prendre la 1è route à droite direction Poujol (D25). Passez le village de Poujol (à gauche) et les maisons de Loustalou (à droite) jusqu’au carrefour d’où part, sur la gauche, la route qui mène au village de Gratacap. Suivre cette route jusqu’au premier chemin goudronné qui part à droite et monte sur le Puech de Salvageau.
