The Bachassier ponds is a wetland of recent creation, developed in compensation for the work of the Lyon-Méditerranée high-speed railway line that passes along the edge of the site. Six ponds were dug in 2001 with the aim of creating habitats favourable to fauna and flora. From the hide you can observe birds like Pisco-de-peito-ruivo, Papa-moscas-cinzento, Pica-pau-malhado-grande and Carriça.

Français: Petite cabane d'observation situé à Chabeuil dans une petite forêt. Les mares de Bachassier sont à la fois classées Espace Naturel Sensible (E.N.S.) et Zone Naturelle d’Intérêt Ecologique Faunistique et Floristique (Z.N.I.E.F.F). Il s’agit d’une zone humide de création récente, élaborée en compensation des travaux de la ligne ferroviaire à grande vitesse Lyon-Méditerranée qui passe en bordure du site. Une cabane d’affût a été installée en septembre 2015, permettant à tous les amateurs d’observer la faune installée autour de la mare.

From Chabeuil take the direction of "Le Bachassier". The hide is located on the sensitive natural space of the Bachassier ponds. Address: Sentier de l'Etang, Chabeuil. The hut is located further in the forest. From the large sign indicating the educational path, turn right into the woods.
