Le Champ Virlois is interesting for several reedbed species, including Pisco-de-peito-azul, Rouxinol-grande-dos-caniços, Felosa-dos-juncos, Garça-pequena, Frango-d'água and Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis. Chapim-de-faces-pretas has been spotted in stopover and crakes are possible.
In the surrounding forests Dom-fafe, Ógea, Felosa-musical and Milhafre-preto are quite easy to see. Alcaravão and Pato-olho-d'ouro can be found at the surrounding gravel pits.
