Descrição
The Crau is one of the last mediterranean stone steppes and therefore holds many rare species. Sadly it is under high pressure of land-use and agriculture. Car testing areas and an airport have covered parts of the steppe in recent times. Nevertheless steppe breeding birds like the Sisão, Cortiçol-de-barriga-branca and Calhandra-comum still survive and can be seen in La Crau. In Winter you can also see flocks of Tarambola-dourada and Abibe-comum or even Petinha de Richard.
