La Capelière consists out of the big laguna "Étang du Vaccarès", and many smaller lagunas, ponds and heather-Landscape close-by. One of the best birding spots in the Camargue. All year round you can see Abetouro-comum, Garça-branca-grande, Cegonha-branca, Guarda-rios-comum and Rouxinol-bravo. In summer Garça-pequena, Socó-taquari, Pernilongo, Pássaro-bique-bique and Perna-vermelha-escuro. During winterMarrequinha-comum, Pato-trombeteiro, Zarro-comum, Narceja-comum and Chapim-de-faces-pretas. During migration ducks, waders and plovers.

The Capelière visitor centre on the reserve is where you can find all the information that you need concerning the various nature trails and sites of interest in this area (La Capelière, Salin-de-Badon, Etang du Vaccarès). Open every day from April to September : 09:00 - 13:00 and 14:00 - 18:00 and from October to March, apart from on Tuesdays : 09:00 - 13:00 and 14:00 - 17:00. Entrance : 3€.
