Étang Turlet is located at the southern exit of the town of Villars-les-Dombes. The lake has mainly open shallow water with some scarce reedbeds and wet woodlands. On the northern bank of the lake is a bird hide. Among the bird you can observe are Frisada, Piadeira, Arrabio, Pato-de-bico-vermelho, Zarro-negrinha, Zarro-comum, Marrequinha-comum, Marreco, Cisne-vulgar, Garça-roxa, Cegonha-branca, Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis, Gaivina-de-faces-brancas, Mergulhão-de-crista, Mergulhão-pequeno and Mergulhão-de-pescoço-preto.

Étang Turlet is located south of the town of Villars-les-Dombes. You can park along the road close to the lake. Click on the P in the map for directions. From parking spot it is just a 100 m walk to the bird hide.
