Etang du Gallardon is a lake located between the river Seine and the town of Verneuil-sur-Seine. Among the more common birds, you will see manyGanso do Canadá, Cisne-vulgar, Pato-real, Galinha-d'água, Guarda-rios-comum and Alvéola-cinzenta year-round.
During the spring, you will be welcomed with Andorinha-do-mar-comum, Andorinha-das-chaminés, Andorinho-dos-beirais, Andorinhão-preto and many other singers. During migrations, you will occasionally find shorebirds on the gravel edges of the lake. Most common will be Maçarico-das-rochas, Pássaro-bique-bique and Abibe-comum. But, if you are lucky, a Pilrito-comum or a Perna-vermelha-comum will await you ! Winter is the most interesting season for the site, as many ducks and other laridae are coming there. Among the most common figure the Pato-trombeteiro, Frisada, Marrequinha-comum, Zarro-comum, Zarro-negrinha, Gaivota-parda and Mergulhão-pequeno. But, there are yearly reports of much rarer birds ! Mergulhão-de-pescoço-castanho, Merganso-de-poupa, loons, Pato-olho-d'ouro have been seen a few times in the last decade.

Etang du Gallardon is located between the town of Verneuil-sur-Seine and the river Seine. From the A13, take the 8th exit and follow the "Verneuil-sur-Seine" signs. You can park in front of the lake, there is a public and free parking lot.
