The Étang de Saclay area is well known amongst local ornithologists. It is one of the best parisian birding spots. During the migration seasons, you may be able to see Pato-de-bico-vermelho, Zarro-comum, Zarro-negrinha, Narceja-comum and Mergulhão-pequeno. Some rarities show up every now and then, like Zarro-bastardo, Garça-pequena and Colhereiro. In the forest, the raptors nest. You can see them flying above the lake: peneireiro-de-dorso-malhado / peneireiro, Ógea, falcão-peregrino and, in summer Águia-pesqueira.

You can park on the bridge and observe the birds from there. With the autorisation of the military training camp and the city hall you may have access to the observatory, open on sunday.
