This large pond is home to nice nesting species as Pato-de-bico-vermelho, Zarro-comum, Zarro-negrinha, Frisada, Felosa-dos-juncos, Garça-roxa. In the surrounding bocage, Picanço-de-dorso-ruivo, Cotovia-pequena,Tartaranhão-caçador are also nesting.
In winter, the pond can be hosting Marrequinha-comum, Zarro-comum, Zarro-negrinha, Piadeira and several vagrants. The place is also really great in times of migration with lots of passerines in the hedgerows and waterfowl on the pond.
