Etang David is a place filled with bush birds, especially in springtime: Toutinegra-de-barrette-preto, Rouxinol-comum, Rola-comum are easy to find, as well as Guarda-rios-comum and Pato-de-bico-vermelho on the pond. Woodpeckers can be found on deciduous trees: Pica-pau-malhado-grande, Pica-pau-malhado-pequeno, Pica-pau-verde, Pica-pau-preto.
The place is also a nesting area for herons: Socó-taquari, Garça-real, Garca-vaqueira can be spotted from the pond side.
Some raptors: Milhafre-preto, Ógea and with chance Milhafre-real and Águia-cobreira are easy to spot hunting around.
Unusual birds like Chapim-de-faces-pretas are possible during a walk across this picturesque little place.
