Descrição
If you don't want to drive deep into the mountains, but still want to observe a few of the typical species, you can take a hike from the town of Verdun. The Ermitage de St-Pierre hike is comparatively easy for the mountains. Gralha-de-bico-vermelho can be seen foraging on the slopes. Birds of prey that are easy to spot include Milhafre-real, Águia-cobreira, Grifo-comum, Abutre do Egipto and falcão-peregrino. Only occasionally Quebra-ossos and Águia-real can be seen flying over, but spots deeper in the mountains allow better observations of these species. Iberian Pica-pau-verde (Picus sharpei) can be heard calling.
