Beyond recreation, the site also preserves wetlands and wooded habitats, supporting biodiversity and offering opportunities for birdwatching. Numerous species of gulls, geese, ducks, swans, and herons can be observed.

Base de Loisirs de Draveil is situated in Draveil, about twenty minutes south of Paris. Parking can be done on the Juvisy-sur-Orge side. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. Public transport: easy to reach from Paris by RER. The RER station Juvisy-sur-Orge (1, connecting both the RER C and RER D lines) is only 500 m away from Base de Loisirs de Draveil.
