Descrição
Kallahdenniemen Uimaranta: the beach is a great place to watch birds during migration seasons as many species stop to rest and feed near the shore. Migrating waders are among the most interesting birds to see on the beach and it's possible to see a lot of rarer species if one is lucky. Ostraceiro and Maçarico-das-rochas are a pretty common sight by the beach and it's possible to spot waders like Pilrito-comum , Maçarico-bastardo , Pilrito-de-bico-comprido ,Perna-verde-comum , Borrelho-grande-de-coleira , Borrelho-pequeno-de-coleira , Pilrito de Temminck , Combatente , Maçarico-galego , Fuselo and Perna-vermelha-escuro. Some lucky birders have even spotted Alfaiate here.
Gaivota-parda , Guincho-comum , Gaivota-argêntea , gaivota-da-asa-escura , Andorinha-do-mar-comum , Andorinha-do-mar-árctica and Gaivina-de-bico-vermelho are regular birds by the beach. Merganso-grande , Merganso-de-poupa , Cisne-vulgar ,Pato-real , Pato-olho-d'ouro , Zarro-negrinha and Ganso do Canadá are also common water fowl.
While waiting for waders to make an appearance it's also good to keep an eye on the reeds and their surroundings as you can spot common birds like alvéola-branca but also alvéola-amarela if you're in luck. When small birds are around birds of prey aren't far behind in the form of Gavião da Europa , Açor , Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis and Ógea. Some very lucky birders have also seen Guarda-rios-comum stop briefly on the area.

When the water level is low, there are more open places for waders to forage on and they're easier to spot during those times. The tiny island in front of the beach also becomes accessible by foot at that time.
