The Sharm el-Sheikh Sewage Ponds are an abandoned place. Nevertheless, the former ponds, the old buildings, a small stand of reeds, and a few bushes offer resting places and habitat for birds such as Toutinegra-de-cabeça-preta, Pardal-espanhol, Andorinha-das-barreiras, Andorinha-das-rochas-pálida and Andorinha-das-chaminés. In the surrounding area Calhandra-das-dunas, Calhandra-de-bico-curvo and Cortiçol-coroado can be observed.

The old sewage Ponds in Sharm el-Sheikh are located just north of the airport. You can park on one of the surrounding streets. From there you can explore the area on foot.
