The lake of Hindemade Sø has several small islands for ground nesting birds and the area is a gorgeous spot for waders and meadow birds. Borrelho-pequeno-de-coleira, Guarda-rios-comum and Alfaiate are seen and birds of prey regularly sweep the area. For example Águia-rabalva that nest further east near Haderslev Fjord are often seen over Hindemade. Milhafre-real is also often seen at Hindemade.

Parking lot at the end of Hindemadevej. Click on the P in the map for directions. Round trip around the lake is about 4 km, but there are plenty of trails in the forest as well. So if you are up for more, have a look around.
