There have been recorded more than 250 birds species. It is a nesting site of the in Silesia rare Chapim-de-bigode and there are nesting some other rare birds like Garça-pequena , Pisco-de-peito-azul and Pintarroxo-carmíneo. It is also a popular bird stop during migration time. In Spring you can see there for example Chasco-cinzento , Felosa-unicolor , Gaivota-de-cabeça-preta , Águia-pesqueira and sometimes even Felosa-aquática and Felosa-real.
During the Autumn migration you can see many species of waders like Pilrito-comum , Combatente , Pilrito-pequeno , Pilrito-de-bico-comprido , Perna-vermelha-escuro , Maçarico-bastardo and some other. Also you can observe Franga-d'água-grande or Frango-d'água.
In Winter it is an ideal place for watching Chapim-de-bigode and if you are lucky you can see wintering Abetouro-comum or Pintarroxo-de-bico-amarelo .
Various bird rarities were also recorded here: Falaropo-de-bico-fino , Rola-do-mar , Maçarico-sovela , Maçarico-de-bico-direito , Seixoeira , Alcatraz-de-cabeça-preta , Garajau-comum , Andorinha-do-mar-árctica , Andorinha-dáurica , Tartaranhão-de-peito-branco , Gaivota de Sabine , Felosa-aquática , Felosa-real and many others.

The location is inaccessible by car, so it is best to park somewhere in Ostrava and walk to the location or go by bus. I recommend a walk along the western side of the pond. You can make a circle around, but if you want to see some reed birds, it is best to wait near the reeds or go on one of the fishing bridges (but be careful, it can be dangerous).
