Goritsa Forest is a place with easy access and is a nice woodland on a almost flat terrain, where Papa-moscas-de-meio-colar breeds. Presence of standing and fallen dead wood provides excellent conditions for Pica-pau-mediano, Pica-pau-malhado-pequeno, Pica-pau-malhado-grande, Pica-pau-cinzento, Pica-pau-verde and Pica-pau-preto, but also Felosa-assobiadeira, Rabirruivo-de-testa-branca and Petinha-das-árvores. The site is situated on the migratory flyway of storks, pelicans and birds of prey which can be observed from some of the open areas around.
