The reserve (called 'Baltata') is old natural forest next to Albena Resort and is good place to see Pica-pau-cinzento, Pica-pau-verde, Pica-pau-malhado-grande, Pica-pau-mediano, Pica-pau-malhado-pequeno and sometimes - Pica-pau-preto, and other forest birds from the asphalt paths of the resort. The terrace of the tallest building of the resort (Dobrudzha Hotel) is an excellent watch point to observe the flow of migrating Pelicano-vulgar and almost all raptor species of Europe. Papa-moscas-pequeno, Rabirruivo-de-testa-branca and other passerine birds cross the area during migration as well.
