The Weerdse Visvijver is an old sand extraction pit. The construction of an inaccessible island and a marsh serves to attract water and marsh birds. A bird watching screen has been placed along the water. In the winter period and during bird migration this is an ideal area for special guests, such as Mergulhão-de-pescoço-castanho or Águia-pesqueira.

Nederlands: De Weerdse Visvijver is een oude zandwinningsput en nu een interessante visvijver met ruimte voor allerlei (water)vogelsoorten. Klein, maar charmant gebied om te vertoeven. De aanleg van een ontoegankelijk eiland en een moeras dient om water- en moerasvogels aan te trekken. Tijdens de trek kan een visarend voor wat concurrentie zorgen. Langs het water is een vogelkijkwand geplaatst. In de winterperiode en tijdens de vogeltrek is dit een ideaal gebied voor speciale gasten, zoals Mergulhão-de-pescoço-castanho of Águia-pesqueira.

Access to the area can be found via 3 roads, Kleinveld, Galgenberg and Ketelveldweg. You will only find parking at the Galgenberg. Click on the P in the map for directions. Due to recent works in 2023, certain areas are closed.
