In Schulensbroek 230 bird species have been observed in the last 10 years, including Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis, Garça-branca-pequena and Águia-pesqueira. On the grass and hay lands, meadow birds breed, such as Maçarico-de-bico-direito, Maçarico-real and Ostraceiro. Marreco , Cartaxo-comum, Pisco-de-peito-azul and rouxinol-dos-caniços can also be found here.

Nederlands: In Schulensbroek zijn de vijver, de natte graslanden met sloten, rietvelden, knotwilgen en meidoornhagen een ideale broed- en overwinteringsplaats voor veel vogels. In dit Natura 2000-gebied zijn de afgelopen 10 jaar 230 vogelsoorten waargenomen, waaronder Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis, Garça-branca-pequena en Águia-pesqueira. In de graslanden broeden Maçarico-de-bico-direito, Maçarico-real en Ostraceiro. Marreco, Cartaxo-comum, Pisco-de-peito-azul en rouxinol-dos-caniços kun je ook in het gebied vinden.

Schulensbroek is located between Limmen and Halen, directly west of Schulen. There is a car park at the visitors centre. Press a P on the map for directions to a car park. Public transport: There is a train station in Schulen. The circular walk shown on the map is approximately 10 km.

Trails are pointed out with different indications for each distance depending between 2km and 10 km. The route you see on the map is 10 km. From the viewing platform of the Schulensmeer visitor centre (Demerstraat 60, Lummen) you can get an excellent view of the birds.
