The Buggenhoutbos is the habitat of various forest species that can be found here all year round, such as Pica-pau-mediano, Gaio-comum, Trepadeira-azul and Coruja-do-mato. The grazed meadow is the ideal habitat for Cartaxo-comum, Papa-amoras-comum, peneireiro-de-dorso-malhado / peneireiro and Pintarroxo-comum. During the migration periods, interesting species can be seen, such as Felosa-icterina, Picanço-de-dorso-ruivo, Chasco-cinzento and various birds of prey such as Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis. Various species such as Perdiz-cinzenta, Codorniz, Abibe-comum and Laverca feel at home in the surrounding agricultural plots.

Nederlands: Het Buggenhoutbos is een combinatie van eeuwenoud loofbos met jonge percelen bos. Grenzend aan het bos is een open weide die wordt begraasd door runderen. Het oude loofbos is het geliefde habitat van verschillende bossoorten die hier het jaar rond te vinden zijn zoals Pica-pau-mediano, Gaio-comum, Trepadeira-azul en Coruja-do-mato.
De begraasde weide is het ideale habitat voor Cartaxo-comum, Papa-amoras-comum, peneireiro-de-dorso-malhado / peneireiro en Pintarroxo-comum. Tijdens de trekperiodes kunnen interessante soorten gezien worden zoals Felosa-icterina, Picanço-de-dorso-ruivo, Chasco-cinzento en verschillende roofvogels zoals de Tartaranhão-ruivo-dos-pauis. The Buggenhoutbos is located south of the village of Buggenhout. You can park at the official Buggenhoutbos car park. Press P on the map for directions to the car park. The area can only be explored on foot or by bike. The circular walk shown on the map is approximately 4 km.
